3D-borduring (ook wel puff embroidery genoemd) is een borduurtechniek waarbij een speciaal schuimmateriaal onder de borduursteken wordt geplaatst. Hierdoor komt het borduursel letterlijk omhoog van de stof en ontstaat een opvallend driedimensionaal effect. Deze techniek wordt vaak gebruikt voor logo’s of teksten op bijvoorbeeld caps, hoodies en sportkleding, omdat het een stoere en luxe uitstraling geeft. 3D-borduring is vooral geschikt voor dikkere, stevige stoffen zodat het reliëf mooi zichtbaar blijft en langdurig zijn vorm behoudt.
2D Borduring
2D-borduring is de meest gebruikte borduurtechniek waarbij het ontwerp vlak op de stof wordt geborduurd. Met behulp van borduurgaren worden logo’s, teksten of afbeeldingen direct in het textiel gestikt, zonder dat er extra materiaal onder ligt. Hierdoor ontstaat een strak en duurzaam resultaat met een professionele uitstraling. 2D-borduring is geschikt voor vrijwel alle soorten kleding en textiel, zoals polo’s, jassen, tassen en werkkleding, en blijft ook na veelvuldig wassen mooi.

Applicatie / 3D-borduring is een borduurtechniek waarbij verschillende materialen, zoals stof of speciaal schuim, worden gecombineerd met borduursteken om een extra opvallend effect te creëren. Bij een applicatie wordt een stuk stof op het textiel geplaatst en vervolgens met borduursteken vastgezet en afgewerkt. Dit zorgt voor een speels en stijlvol contrast in kleur en structuur.
Wanneer deze techniek wordt gecombineerd met 3D-borduring, ontstaat er extra reliëf doordat delen van het ontwerp verhoogd op de stof liggen. Het resultaat is een luxe, robuuste uitstraling die vaak wordt toegepast op caps, jassen en sportkleding, bijvoorbeeld voor logo’s of grote letters.
